Final Decision Confirmed. – Grandview and Ohio Sites Eliminated.

August 10, 2022

Snippet from Page 2 of the Aug. 9th – Staff Report included below:
Following extensive public comment, the public hearing was closed. After deliberation by the City Council, the Council voted 3 to 1 (with Mayor Rodriguez dissenting) to certify the Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) prepared for the project and approve staff recommended Option 3, which eliminated the four sites previously recommended for removal from the Housing Element rezone sites inventory by the Planning Commission (i.e., Sites S4-060 and S4-201 at South Ohio Street, Site S4-053 at Grandview Avenue/Kellogg Drive and Site S7-005 at NWC Camino de Bryant/Meadowland), deferred action on Sites S7-001 (Bryant Ranch Shopping Center), S3-207 (Richfield Christmas Tree Farm) and S5-008 (Vacant 23-acre Fairmont Blvd parcel), and approved the rezoning of the remaining nineteen sites within the sites inventory (excluding Site S3-082, which had earlier failed to pass).

Words from our neighbors.

I want to personally thank those who put forth all the time and effort to keep our neighborhood informed and updated on the rezoning. It is because of your continued efforts and direction that we succeeded in changing the course of what would have been a devastating impact on our wonderful neighborhood that we love. Thank you so much! This win was possible because of you.
